CFB Borden Golf Club Seasonal Job Opportunities

Borden Golf Club accepts applications each year for positions in one or more of the following areas, for work at either Circled Pine Golf Club or Anderson Park Golf Club.  Available positions are normally posted on the CFPSA website starting late in the winter.  Click here.

Food and Beverage:
 
Short Order Cooks:
Responsible for preparation of food products and assisting with banquet  setup and service for tournaments and special club events.  Duties include BBQ and other general kitchen duties. Seeking energetic enthusiastic individuals with cooking experience who are seeking an opportunity to work and learn.  Responsible attitude critical.  You want to be part of a team that is creating a reputation for outstanding quality and that is developing one of the most popular banquet facilities on the Base.

Bartenders: 
Responsible for serving food and alcoholic beverages in various areas of the club. Seeking energetic individuals with bartending experience for part time positions who enjoy working in a busy environment.
Assigned duties include the following outdoor areas:
Beverage Cart - serving soft drink, bottled alcoholic beverages, and confections on the course from a golf cart and attached trailer.
1/2 Way House - serving drinks, sandwiches and snacks from a small concession hut on the golf course.
BBQ / Marquee - serving hotdogs, hamburgers, softdrinks, and bottled alcoholic beverages from a busy remote kiosk outside the clubhouse - normally used only for special events.

Golf Course Maintenance:

Grounds Labourers:

Responsible for maintaining the golf course. Seeking enthusiastic individuals with golf course experience who can work independently and as part of a team.

Gardeners:
Grounds Labourers with experience in gardening and a knowledge of flowers, shrubs, and other garden plantings.  Responsible for maintaining the flowerbeds on the golf course and around the clubhouse at both golf courses.  Duties usually performed in addition to other Grounds Labourers responsibilities.

Career Positions

Management and supervisory positions at the golf club include the following seasonal and full time positions.  These are long term positions that change infrequently.

General Manager - Responsible for overall operation of the club, including developing and maintaining budgets, marketing and promoting the facilities, training and developing supervisory staff, implementing club, PSP, and NPF policy.  This is a fulltime hands on position that involves assisting in all areas of the club from time to time.

Grounds Superintendent - Responsible to the GM for overall operation of the golf course and grounds.  Senior management position that requires experience in agronomy and golf course maintenance techniques.  Considerable interaction with the members is important to hear their concerns and suggestions for golf course improvement.

Assistant Grounds Superintendent: - Supervisory position responsible to the Grounds Superintendent for day to day operation of the golf course department.  Assigns tasks to and works alongside the Grounds Labourers. 

Maintenance Superintendent - Supervisory position responsible to the Grounds Superintendent for the maintenance of all club buildings.  Deals with contractors, inspectors, and various suppliers to ensure that the building facilities and equipment are kept in proper  working order.  Implements preventive maintenance programs to protect the club's physical assets.  Is responsible for maintaining the club's irrigation equipment in the summer months.

Administrative Assistant - responsible for processing information related to the club's operation and forwarding this information to NPF Accounting and Human Resources in accordance with a regular schedule.  Serves as a central source of information at the club.  Handles reception and telephones at the club's front entrance.  Participates in Management discussions, committee meetings as a senior staff member.

Bar Supervisor - responsible for the Beverage Department operation and service in the Clubhouse at Circled Pine and overall operation of the Food and Beverage Concession at Anderson Park.  Implements department controls and procedures to provide optimum service to the club members and guests.

Kitchen Supervisor - responsible for the overall operation of the Kitchen Department including the development and costing of menus, implementing department controls and procedures to ensure safe, high quality production of food to daily guests and banquet events.

The golf shop services are contracted to a Head Professional who is responsible for providing a golf shop operation and assisting with tournament and daily play.  This is an integral position at the golf club.
The Golf Professional hires and maintains a staff of assistant professionals and back shop staff to assist in handling starter duties at the club.  The professional staff provide lessons, rent golf carts, assist with tournament administration, and perform other duties to ensure the members and club guests enjoy an outstanding experience at the club.
